After 17 years as a successful regional conference, the Australasian Workshop on Combinatorial Algorithms (AWOCA) has gone global as IWOCA!

AWOCA was held at many venues in Australia (in 2006 at Ayers Rock, a world heritage site), once in Korea, three times in Indonesia.

At the Ayers Rock conference, in view of the increased recognition of AWOCA, the participants decided unanimously to upgrade, to focus more on high- quality presentations, but also on problems sessions, and to have the Proceedings published by a well-known academic publisher.

To provide more flexibility in venue for the upgraded conference, and to make its results more widely accessible, it has also been renamed.
