Airports

London has 5 public airports: Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Gatwick, and London City The most common ways of getting from these airports to Central London are:

  • Heathrow: by underground (tube) Piccadilly line;
  • Gatwick: by train to Victoria Station or London Bridge Station;
  • Stansted: by train to Liverpool Street Station;
  • Luton: by train to St Pancras International Station (take first the free shuttle bus from the airport to Luton Airport Parkway Station);
  • London City: by DLR (Docklands Light railway).

For example, you can get to Central London from Gatwick, Stansted and Luton airports by bus instead of train (a bus option would normally be cheaper but longer than a train option). Also, it may be possible to reach other stations in Central London than the ones suggested above.

Great Dover Street Apartments

The closest tube station is Borough Station (Northern Line). From Borough Station, head northeast on Borough High Street, turn right at Great Dover Street, continue 0.3 mile, your destination will be on the left.

Getting to Borough Station from Heathrow

The most convenient way for Heathrow is to use the Piccadilly line to the King’s Cross St. Pancras underground station and change to Northern Line (towards Morden) to Borough Station. This trip takes about 70-80 minutes.

Getting to Borough Station from London City airport

London City Airport DLR Station: Take Docklands Light Railway (towards Bank DLR Station) to Bank Station, change to the Northern Line (towards Morden) to Borough Station. This trip takes about 30 minutes.

Getting to Borough Station from Stansted airport

Stansted Airport Rail Station: Take National Express East Anglia (the Stansted Express) to Liverpool Street Rail Station, change to underground Central Line to Bank Station and then take the Northern Line (towards Morden) to Borough Station. This trip takes about 1 hour.

Getting to Borough Station from Luton airport

From Luton Rail Station: Take the free shuttle bus from the airport to Luton Airport Parkway railway station, take a First Capital Connect train towards to St Pancras International Station, walk to King's Cross St Pancras underground station, take underground Northern Line (towards Morden) to Borough Station. This trip takes about 70 minutes.

Getting to Borough Station from Gatwick airport

Gatwick Airport Rail Station: Take a First Capital Connect train to London Bridge railway station, take underground Northern Line (towards Morden) to Borough Station. This trip takes about 40 minutes.

Getting to King’s College London from Great Dover Street Apartments

Walk to underground Borough Station, take Northern Line (towards Morden) to Elephant & Castle Station, change to underground Bakerloo Line to Charing Cross Station, and walk along Strand (East direction) to King’s College London. This trip should take 30-35 minutes.
